Simple Css Menu

Hello Readers,
Hope all of you are doing fine. As this is my online diary which I use as a notebook I'm posting this post as a note for my future reference and obviously as a little help to those who need it.
In this post I'm going to create a very simple Css rollover menu.
I'm not posting about the Photoshop section......only the Html and the Css.

Other than this I have created two images in Photoshop.
They are menu.gif and hover.gif
menu.gif is of 600 pixel width and 50 pixel height but after slicing its of width 1 pixel and hover.gif is of 180 pixel width and 50 pixel height.

Robot Txt - Its SEO Importance

Robot.txt is a text file which will guide any search engine spider which comes to our page. It is to be uploaded in our root folder wherever our website is hosted.
Generally a robot.txt file looks like this:
User-Agent : *
Disallow : img/birthday
The first line tells the crawler that it is allowed to access any of the content in that folder. If we think that some of the folders or content is useless for search engines then you should exclude them using the Disallow command.

How To Search for Specific File Types on Google

Google lets you to restrict your search to only certain file types. This can be very helpful if you are looking specifically for file types, such as Power Point - ppt, Word - doc / odcx or Adobe PDF.
Here are the ways by which we can do it.

[1] Go to Global Configuration>>Site and then fill up the Metadata Settings as per your needs. Also check the options in SEO Settings. These applications are applied to index page.

[1] Go to Global Configuration>>System and enable cache from Cache Settings.
[2] Go to Global Configuration>>Server and enable GZIP Page Compression.
[3] Type http://localhost/xampp in your browser and then go to PhpMyAdmin.Select your Joomla database and click on that.Check all the tables created under that database and then select Optimize Table.
[4] Go to Global Configuration>>Server and put Error Reporting to None.
[5] Disable unnecessary plug-ins and modules.

Transparent Graphic Effect Tutorial

[1] Open a new document in Photoshop with any canvas size.

[2] Make the color of background layer black.
[3] Create a new layer and also fill it with black color.
[4] Go into Filter>Render>Fibers. Adjust the settings like this to get a real good contrast.
Variance>50
Strength>30
[5] Now Go into Filter>Blur>Motion Blur and adjust the settings to 999px and adjust the angles also.
[6] Open up the Levels (Control + L) and adjust them as I have. This is going to darken our fibers.
Input Levels>110,1,255
[7] Open the Hue/Saturation window and adjust the colors according to your needs and like.
[8] We are done.This is the effect which I created. I have placed some other layers and adjusted their opacity.

[9] This graphic effect is created using Photoshop CS2. Let me know if you like it.

Tip To Create a Separator in Photoshop

Hello Readers,
This is a small tip while creating separator in Photoshop.
[1] You can use Line tool or Rectangular Marquee tool to create a separator in Photoshop.
[2] I use two 1px line to create a separator.
[3] If its a vertical separator the lighter color should come first and if its a horizontal separator then the lightest line is always at the bottom.

Carry your computer on your USB

Scenario 1 - If you are working across multiple computers that are not connected to each other, you have to use the USB drive or external hard drive to store and carry your Office documents, engineering drawings, personal pictures and other multimedia files.

Scenario 2 - If you have all the required programs or data on the USB drive but the computer you are currently working on doesn’t have the necessary software programs that are required to view or edit those files.

Those software’s are not installed on your computer but on the USB drive.
